~ BRADLEY UPDATES, LORETTA LYNN'S MISC RIDERS - ETC ~

SNOW - SNOW - SNOW
February has been the month of SNOW!!!!!!!!!!! I am sure that most all of us are ready for SPRING. I see that many of our riders have headed south for some riding with Mike McDade. Then there is a group headed for Florida for riding and what ever else they can get into. As for many of us left behind we look forward to watch Darryn Durham in his East Coast SX races. Best of everything that you need Darryn. I also have heard thru "Facebook", that Shane may be riding in Alanta. That would be great.... "The Durham Brothers"... has a nice ring to it!
I got into some LL pictures and put together a couple of galleries with a variety of our riders that were there this past summer. WOW for a moment when working on them I actually got to sweating...... well, it was a good thought. So I'll get some more up.

~ BRANDON BRADLEY HAD HIS THROAT SURGERY MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15TH IN MORGANTOWN ~

FEBRUARY 19, FRIDAY - FROM www.caringbridge.org/visit/brandonbradley - Michelle Bradley

Brandons Home.
He's doing really well, no pain meds, no special instructions other than soft diet and keep head down. He's been sleeping most of the day. He's talking alot and laughing alot also. I hate it that we have to tell him not to talk so much. We've been waiting 16 months for this but that's o'k, there's lots of time for his conversations.
Brandon also has had an awakening, he's more like himself now. Your voice is a part of you and he has not been able to hear himself speak, so a little piece of his identity was lost. The people that have been around him these last 16 months and have heard him see the change. It's amazing. The brain is a mysterious thing.
So he has an appointment with his surgeon on the 26, and they will scope his airway and make sure everything looks good, the brace may be comning off within the next week or so. we'll see
Brandon and his father are down stairs watching Family Guy and I can actually hear my son laughing. Music to my ears. smile

God Bless you all.
Love and Peace
Michelle

FEBRUARY 2, GROUNDHOG DAY AND MX PICTURES. No they don't go together and we have 6 more weeks of winter. So I needed a fix of MX. The past few weeks I have been playing around with some old photos and it's been a lot of fun. There are lots more but thought that I had better get some race pictures up of this past year that I was unable to do at the time. So looking back at the many moto's of some races I started with the July race at High Point and the +25 & Collegeboy class. WOW, you guys look great. You all but jumped off my screen. Yes, I miss you guys!!! So it's a start and I even put some in the album with the somewhat headless rider but again you all look so good! Head or no head... So this is a start... hope that you enjoy them as much as I have getting them ready for you.

This past week I received a very nice e-mail from Connie Preston. Connie was the wife of Rob Preston of Camelback Raceway in West Virginia. Connie was telling me that Rob past away back in 2005. In that same year Connie and Rob had a devestating fire that hit their home. Many memories of the track were lost in that fire. Rob Preston was always wanting the best that he could provide for his riders. He worked thru too much rain and then not enought rain and water, but the race went on. If I remember right we had two D5 State Championship races down at Camelback. One was a wash out and the other was a good day. Always unpredictable down there. The following pictures are from the 2003 State Championship race. Connie Preston now lives in Florida, if you would like her address, please send me an e-mail.

Blane Saeler #44 is a talented MX rider and he also has some great artist abilities as well. Check out some of these graphic designed stickers that he made for his class at school. Very nice designs. They look like all A's to me. Thanks for sharing Blane and keep up the good work. (That #98 looks great smile

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are so fortunate in this sport that we love. We have some of the best MX tracks around. We have Promoters that are trying to keep up with changing needs. And of course some of the best amateur racers around. Then there is the best thing of all.... ALL OF YOU... What an amazing group of friends that we all share each week thru out the year. There is a little bit of everything mixed into this group, but there isn't a bad apple in the bunch. Today I received a beautiful card from a beautiful lady. This lady most all of you riders see many times during your moto's out on the track. She is ready to make sure that if you go down she will be there to protect you as best as she can. She handles a yellow flag with style and concern. This lady is Lisa Petros. She is talented in many things, and those talents bring out the love that this lady has within. She is remarkable. Give her a wave sometime if the moment is right, she truly loves what she does. Thank you Lisa for all of your kindness, we love you!
(this is a photo of some very special things on my buffet & window - the awesome plaque that Lisa made for us, cobult blue old glass, PAMX 09, 08 Awards, my Mothers Christmas Cactus, Aaron's stain glass rainbow)
~ DAVID GRIMES SR. SEEN AT WEST GREENE VS BETH CENTER WRESTLING ~
As many of you know when MX season comes to a close, High School wrestling gets started. I have been involved with wrestling at this level for nearly 16 years. My Aaron did not wrestle, he prefered Baseball. But my older daughter Jennifer was apart of the cheering support for the team so Mom went off to support her. Well after a few matches and wondering what it was all about, I was hooked. From the first match up thru Regionals and then the Big Dance in Hershey we have been attending. Kristin then became apart of the Grappleretts in her Middle School years taking pictures, that brought me in as Sponsor. Of course that meant many hours at the concession stand, and many matches and the wonderful connection that we get following our boys. PIAA States in Hershey is the ultimate 3 days of wrestling. For many years Kristin and I would attend both AA & AAA secessions. We followed many local wrestlers thru this event. We became very familiar with names like Lorson, Stoneking, Holland that we later got to know thru motocross. Kristin became a sorce of information on many of these wrestlers thru out her High School and College years. So as the snow falls I find myself back in the gym at West Greene taking tickets for our Athletic Director and getting to sit up front and take pictures. Last night a very familiar face came to my table, I knew who he was just could not place him. He also felt that same feeling. He told me that he was the bus driver of the Beth Center team, and I told him he could go right in. The man went to the concession stand for coffee and returned to my table saying my name. He said I'm David Grimes. WOW..... I knew that face, but it just didn't fit standing in my West Greene Gym. Had a great visit with Dave while selling tickets. But that was just the beginning of Dave's big night. As the Varsity match started the 50/50 ticket number was taken. I think it was around $116.00, well Dave Grimes was the very lucky winner. WOW again. Congrats Dave. It was a good night for the WG wrestling team and a better one for me seeing a very nice face from my biggest love, MX. Hope to see you soon David Grimes Sr. & Jr. Have a great winter.
~ I will try and get some new things posted on here soon. I have been doing some albums from the past and I have a few more to get up. ~ 1/12/10
~ This time of year it seems that most of us have a need to look at past memories. Resent memories or ones a few years back. I know that I have many pictures of recent events like this past years racing, Loretta Lynns and Mini O's to do. But I just had the need to reach back to racing years gone by. My picture taking at that time was a 35 mm Minolta with a reasonably good zoom lens. I was addicted to taking the 125/250 A/B classes. That's were I knew the riders. Many of those riders Aaron raced with. It took me a few years to start branching off with the 85's, +25, Vets etc. So you will not find to many of those classes in the years 2001 thru 2003. I have been playing around with a few albums on my Facebook - Lantzermx98.com. I thought I would put that album of 2002 on my pBase page. April, May & June 2002. So here is a short slideshow of some of the pictures. Riders like, Broc Hepler, Danny McAdoo, Matt Ritchey, Chad Sanner, Chad Boyd, Ryan Coleman, Ken & Kevin Hoge, Ryan Holiday, Billy Ursic, Gavin Graysck, Alan Bonamo, Bo Bowman, Bobby Shuckhart, Brandon Bradley.... just to name a few.
~ 2001 PHOTO ALBUM - BEAVER VALLEY ~
Beaver Valley was always an interesting stop. Lots of different memories come to me. I remember 1 State Championship race were it was snowing most of the day. Snow, sleet and terribly cold. Lots of fires going to help keep the riders warm or they just stayed in any warm vehicle that they could fine. (2000) Changes were made over the years but it was still a hard place to get inot and to get out, and we were just in a pick-up. The track never seemed to change. The look out building came down and something new was made at staging. The concession stand always had great food and the ladies in the trailer were mostly friendly. Now the guy at staging and the gate well he ran a pretty tight ship. No questions answered, things were the way they were, right Dee? The multiflora bush served as the fence line near a pretty heafty jump. It was one that the rider would not want to miss. Many did meet the dirt there. The sun was always in the riders eyes during the 2nd motos. That with the dust at that time of day was a dangerous one. I remember the day that Stevie Roman took a terrible fall and left with I believe 2 broken legs. That was just awful. My Aaron didn't mind Beaver Valley, he had many a fall, espically after you crossed over and thru that section. That area was just a hard place for him. But those were some good times and of course great riders and families. I have put an album together of the 2001 State Championship race held at Beaver Valley. No snow that day, the weather was good. I did have some trouble with some of the names. (I can't find my 2001 Stats book) Also Ryan Gould and Shane Durham both had #10 and I just had trouble with those two boys. I hope that you enjoy your walk back thru Beaver Valley.
( This photo was taken outside of Jerry's "Man Cave". Lots of great times held in there over the years. Also the picnic table that hosted many of our PAMX riders this year at many of the races and Loretta Lynns. Lots of great memories there as well. Now for the deer that Jerry got during buck season, well it's just alittle different for sure. Looks much better when it is dark. * MINI O'S A CLASS *
All of the classes at Mini O's and Loretta Lynn's have the top riders from all around. You don't want too miss any moto even if it doesn't have any of your local riders in it. This years A class at Mini O's did not have the the "A" riders that we have watched so closely since the season opener back in March. No Shuckhart, Slusser, Woskob, Streit and Spangler for one reason or another they did not attend. So there I was out in the most awesome part of the MX track taking pictures. The A class is coming off the gate and I am missing our riders. The camera is ready for the first riders to come up on the dinner table, I might as well take a few pictures, why not these guys are awesome. Well I took a few pictures and yes those guys are awesome. Ian Trettel just took my breath away and Tomac in this moto was fighting hard to get back up front where he normally is at. So I had to make a album of this moto of the 250 A/Pro-Am Modified. I would have loved to see our riders matching up with these very talented riders.
* NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS BANQUET *
Again the third Night of Champions Banquet was a great hit. Yes there was snow/ice again and it was pretty cold out side. But with all of the wonderful people in side we really didn't notice. So good to see so many faces that I already miss from the weekly racing. The evening moved along with the well planned events. That just doesn't happen but with all of the planning from Jeff, Laurie, Doc, Scott and a full crew of young helpers it went off very well. Actually the only thing that I can find that I didn't like was that it all went by so quickly. Just over too fast. Did I mention all of the wonderful products that many received. Well there were plenty for the riders and of course the door prizes for many of us. Dirt Bike, Mini bike, Pro Action goodies, T-Shirts, funny hats, beautiful vehicle rims, sound system, motorized boat and so much more. Oh yes and money. The money boards went around and all of the numbers were purchased. The big winner of the big board was Chris Raymond. Totally awesome. The mini bike was won by the McKinneys. Cameron has to feel that he had Christmas last night. I know that Dad was just overwhelmed. The fantastic Suzuki dirt bike, (I apologize Jeff for not knowing the size and all of that but I will get it and make it right) went to well, it's hard for me to write this but to one of the Champion ATV rider. Not sure of his name. Oh yes there was a very big sigh that went across the room. But the young ATV rider had a great smile on his face.
I have put together some pictures of the Champions for this blog and will get some galleries up of everyone. So if you do not see your self here, you will probably be in the galleries. I have also made 2 pages of last nights champions. To see page 2 just go the the Archived Entries tab and it will take you to that page.
A personnal thank you to The Toth's and Lippmans for your kindness. Also to all of the riders and their families for allowing The Lantzers to be a part of what you do.
~ JIMMY EVANS & MATT TOTH WINTER OLYMPIC CHAMPIONS ~
Jimmy Evans and Matt Toth are 2009 Mini O's Champions. Motocross finals were today with Jimmy taking first in the +30 class. In his +25 class Jimmy also took a 2nd moto win. (not sure at this time of the overall in this class, but will be checking it out, I belive another overall win) Jimmy will be adding these to his already 2 champions in Supercross. Matt Toth took first in the Open C Stock class. The riding from these two was totally awesome over this past week. Also in todays mains were Derek Fratz-Orr, Daniel Lippman, Raeslee Weimer, Jared Lesher, Timmy Cosby, Ty Kesten and Corey Passieu. Congrats to all of our PAMX riders.
Photo courtesy of Kim Weimer - Thank you Kim!
Information on Raeslee's great accomplishments at Mini O's this past week, from Kim Weimer.
"I wasn't sure if you knew but Raeslee won 3rd in Girls class in Supercross and 5th in Women's class. She was the only girl to trophy in both classes in Supercross. She also won a podium 3rd place position in MX as well which helped her tie for 1st place as the overall Olympiad in the Glrls 9-15 class. Raeslee was recognized at the Mini O's as one of the elite members of the Girls class. Raeslee wanted me to make sure I told you that although she tied in Olympiad Points (40 pts.) with Kelsey Morris of Florida, the first place award went to Kelsey because a tie goes to the rider that had the best overall finish. Rae had a 3 (SX) 3(MX) and Kelsey had a 4(SX) 2 (MX). Raeslee received the 2nd place award."
Great racing Raeslee and thank you Kim for this update on Raeslee trip to the Mini O's.
~ QUALIFIERS MOTOCROSS - MINI O'S ~
GREAT DAY OF RACING - The qualifiers are done and so are the consi's. I know that Matt Toth finished for sure in two of his classes in first. And was 1st in one consi. He will be in 5 mains tomorrow. Also Jimmy Evans took a first in +30 and 5th in his +25. Jimmy took a bad spill coming over the dinner table but went from 18th to 5th. Awesome ride. Derek Fratz-Orr I believe made it into two mains riding very well. No mains were ran today so it will be along day to get in 39 mains tomorrow. Matt Toth has the last one. Hoping the best for all of our riders.
~ THANKSGIVING AT MINI O'S ~
Sun came back to Gatorback and Motorcross qualifiers started today. Two great happenings. The track was dialed in with many practices and it looked alittle rough. But better than a mucky track. Daniel Lippman joined in with the SX riders and looked pretty good out there. Lesher, Fratz-Orr, Weimer, Gretchen, Passieu, Kantner, Arblaster, Kesten, Crosby, Kantner were among the PAMX riders that got at least one qualifier in today. Matt Toth got 2 qualifiers in today and he made quite a statement in his 250C Stock division, he finished 1st. Going down in the gator pit in 2nd but came up on the dinner table in first and thats were he stayed. Great ride Matt. Tomorrow will be a day filled with many moto's. Jimmy Evans will be out in his 2 classes. Have a great day riders.
~ RAIN, MUD & SUPERCROSS MAINS ~
The days have been overcast. The clouds today decided to drop some rain and did it ever pour. Most of the mains got thru with out rain but the skys opened up and the track became a slick course. Watching the bikes go off the gate and into the first turn had some not even getting to the turn and others going down there. Not getting a good start in SX at Mini O's can put an end to the quest of first. The track is bad enough but when it rains it is gruesome.
Congrats to Jimmy Evans with his 2 championship finishes. Jimmy took 1st in the +25 and +30 Classes. Totally awesome riding Jimmy.
The motocross practice was canceled because of the rain and will start up in the AM. I love Motocross at the Mini O's. We are hoping that it is dry and sunny.
Update on our other riders. Nick Fratz-Orr had a bad crash during SX practice with another bike coming down on his back. He is very sore and has some nasty marks on his back. Shane Durham has a broken heel and is not able to participate. I must say here that Shane has been very busy. If there was an award for helping others I would give it to Shane. He is busy helping many riders down on the gate. He packs the gate area, placing dirt where it needs to be and stomping it in place. He takes mud out of tires with his fingers, points out the way to get off the gate. I'm sure that he would rather be riding but he is still being very productive with the help that he gives to others. Daniel Lippman will be riding MX, just coming off an enjury, he too has been busy helping Derek Fratz-Orr down at the gate.
Time to rest for tomorrow is MX. I'm sure that our riders will be right at home.
