~ PVR PAMX RND 3 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS ~

Great riders and racing at PVR. The day started out cool with some clouds but soon came the sun and the heating up of the racing. I love the feeling of anticipation that all the riders have for the day ahead. You can see it in their faces and in their pits. Everyone busy with last minute preparations, late practice on the track and the moto order is posted. Eric is busy at Pro Action getting all of the settings right for the conditions on the track. The smell of breakfast cooking at the concession stand is wonderful. Lorie and her girls in at rider registration are making last minute additions. Practice becomes staging, the prayer is given and the lovely young lady sings the National Anthem.... It's GO TIME! Just looking over the moto order and the riders that are there gets the heart beating faster and the excitement of some very fast motos to come. Spangler is in the house, along with Shuckhart, Durham, Willard, Slusser, Woskob and Roman. And in the +25 class you have Yezek with Evans, Carsten, Woskob, Kozma and Dickson. Now I put these names down but the classes are loaded with even more talent. There are 19 motos set up for the day, but as the day moved along quickly they decided to split some of the classes up in the 2nd moto round. The A 250/Open and B Classes had their own moto's. YES! I love it. Also the 2nd +25/Collegeboy moto had their own moto. Awesome spectating. Jeff and his crew have again been very busy with their on going projects around the track. A new pit area just off to the right as you come into the pit area that takes you up on a higher plain. Lots of room up there and the view must be awesome. The trees over by the old big bowl turn are gone and one can actually see more down in that infamous wooded area. I could see the helmets on the riders as they made that left hander back toward the table top. I do believe that Jeff is not done yet with changes at PVR. The day moved along quickly with not too many injuries. Jimmy Knisley had another very hard fall coming off a 2nd moto B Class start. I do hope that he is feeling better today. Also Jimmy Evans, so good to have him back at the track. Jimmy and a rock met up which will probably need stitches near his eye. Shane Durham took a very hard crash going down the hill toward the pond. The anticipation of him getting up was too long. The crash had him out for the next motos. He was doing okay toward the end of the day but one could see that he was still in some pain. We hope that all of these riders are better today, racing is not complete with out any of you. Now I must ask, who put the baby mice in Ray Niebel's Van. How did you find them and how did you sneak them in that compartment in his Van. This was so funny yesterday, Ray going around trying to find out who put the mice in his van question. Ray and his box of mice. (pictures are in the misc gallery) Great times with so many great people. Yes, there are some tuff times with injuries and miss understandings, but isn't it one of the best times that we have with each other. The love of the sport brings along the respect that we should have for each other and espically the riders. Our relationships with each other takes us thru the highs and the lows. How our lives touch each other, like Roy Holt's Grandma, Tony's Mom. What delight she brought to all of the races. Always there watching Roy and didn't hesitate to let you know if she felt something wasn't right. We are greatful being touch by her life and her smiles.
Well must get back to the job at hand, PICTURES. Back to school on Wednesday so the crunch begins. Back at PVR this coming weekend, hope to see you all there. Have a great week, Always In Memory of Aaron #98, Arlene - thanks for wearing an Aaron Sticker -
