~ LORETTA LYNN'S DAY 2 - MUD - RND 1 COMPLETE ~

I know that in Pennsylvania storms can come on quick. But I must say that here in Tennesse they come out of the gate a lot faster. With in a very short time of returing back to the hotel a weather warning for the Nashville area of high winds, rain and lightning came across the TV. We opened the door to take a look and all seemed fine. After a few minutes the wind picked up and the rain started to come down in waves across the parking lot. Oh my what is happening out at the track? Cell phone service is very weak at the track. One either has to go near the pool area or on top of the biggest hill. So to call and warn anyone was not an option. After last years storm they have improved the warning system. Local police and track officials went around to tell the people to prepare for the storm that was coming. The wind came but the rain left a mess to deal with in the early AM. Dozers pushing and dragging the slop off the track. Equipment turning the dirt over and over as much as they could with the moto's in between. Not too much action in the jumping department but indurance was the key for the first motos of the day. The track with all of the expert attention came together. Still some sloppy areas but it did come together as the day went along. The humidity wasn't as bad and the cloud cover kept the sun from burning down. The first rounds of motos was completed with some great action. Our Broc Papi got the hole shot and received a big $100.00 check for his efforts. I felt that Brian Shuckhart should have received one as well with his great start in the 250A class. Not sure where they had their line but Mimi and I feel that it should have gone to Brian... and we have the pictures to show as well. (we are just alittle prejudice) Mine pictures from the side and Mimi's coming right at her. Oh well, next time.

I have a few pictures of the day. A little of this and that. Be sure and check out Kristin's Blog for more of the past two days.
