~ UP AND COMING LORETTA LYNN'S 09 ~
It's the last week of July and this MX season has been full of spring races, qualifiers and regionals. Racing in between the qualifiers adding to that edge that the riders build on all season. The regionals come along and the rider lays it all out to get in that position that takes them to "The Big Dance". Yes it's Loretta Lynn time. The month of July is full of practice, races on Sundays and that all important constant thought....... stay healthy. Keep the body fit and the bike in one piece, for the bib awaits the riders at the ranch. So does the amazing weather that all have to indure. As a spectator and photographer the heat and humidity is a harsh change from our Pa heat and humidity. But for the riders I don't know how they do it. Watching the riders last year coming off the track after their moto's drained and hot. Taking anything that was wet and cool to drink or just pour over their heads. They are amazing!
Five days of constant motos, the riders have three motos to complete the best that they can for their over all finish. Starting at a very early 7:30 Tuesday morning, Ray Nieble will take the first moto of his Senior +40 class. A great group of riders to start this years Amateur Nationals. The riders that our area has representing us is an amazing group. From Cameron Davis, Brock Papi and Trentin Herrington in the 50's/65's classes. With Jared Lesher, Stephen Gretchen and Derek Fratz-Orr in the 85 and Schoolboy classes. The 250/450 STK/MOD B Classes Have David Grimes, Derek Fratz-Orr, Daniel Lippman and Ty Newcome. The A Classes are totally full, Brian Shuckhart, Shane Durham, Tyler McGoff, Dylan Slusser, Mike Roseto, Michael McDade and Lowell Spangler. Our Jr +25 class has our Davey Yezek, Mike Sigmund, Duane Evans and David Kilgore. The Supermini Class is well represented with Alex Odell and Daniel Lippman Four Stroke Class has Broc Streit and Shane Durham. Women, Sr +45 and 450C have Jessica Coombs with Raeslee Weimer and husband Timmy Coombs and Ray Niebel Brandon Minnich. The Father and son riders, Dave Grimes Sr in the +50 Class will be riding and helping out son David in his 450 B Stock class. Yes, that's a great group of our own riders. May their week be full of all sort of good things.
I have put together a slide show of misc pictures from last years Loretta Lynn's. Hopefully it will give you all an in sight of what is ahead for the riders and their families.
