~ DAVID PLAVI INJURED AT PLUM CREEK ~
UPDATE, MAY 20 - PM Kristy Plavi........ Dave is moving to Indiana Hospital (3rd Floor) for rehabilitation. Visiting hours are 3-8 p.m.. If you are nearby, stop and see him....he gets lonely!
Please stop in if you are any where around that location.....
UPDATE ON DAVEY, FRIDAY AM......... FROM Kristy.... "Hey Dave is doing well after his surgery.....sore and grogy from the meds....his ct scan showed a little more bruising but they said thats normal, but doing another Ct in the am to make sure...thanks for asking! Take care!"
Such a hard year for David and his family. He and his family have worked so hard to get back to normal. At practice tonight Dave had a crash and broke his left femur in two places. Robin Plavi just called with this sad news. David is in the Conemaugh Hospital and will have surgery tomorrow where they will put a rod in the leg. Robin feels that everthing else is okay and that Dave will be staying a day or two in the hospital and on the 9th floor. Please keep Dave and his family in your thoughts and prayers. So many of our riders getting hurt....

AND HIGH POINT WAS CERTAINLY CLOSE TO THAT TODAY...... What a wonderful Mothers Day at the Point. Awesome racing with the wonderful riders and their families there as well. A class was loaded, along with our own talented riders came Pastrana, Gibson and Willard mixing it up with Shuckhart, Durham, Streit... just to name a few. Wow it was incredible.
Preparing for High Point has been going on in my mind since the first race of this Spring Series. (actually since we left last fall after the last race there) High Point being so close to were we live has been a part of our family way back. Jerry and Aaron ( maybe 8 or 9) would head out for some kind of racing at this High Point place. At the end of the day on their return with many stories about bikes, event T-shirts, high voltage wires and total amazement of the day. That was the beginning and since then many memories. We have to have John Cougar Melloncamp on as we get off exit 1 and start the windy trip to the gate. Now and then we listen to Loggin's "Ride Like The Wind"..... just so many memories...
As always I was in awe on how beautiful it is. I just want to soak up every inch of the track and areas around it.
WHAT A WONDERFUL FAMILY WE ARE ALL BLESSED WITH.... Smiles everywhere from riders registration where the ladies work so hard, Chris Raymond barking out where and what you should be doing, Erick at Pro Action helping the riders, Jeff and Lorie getting supplies out, Lamont trying to find the right flag, the track ground keepers ready at any moment to disk the track, Sabastian ready to sing the Anthem, Buddy always with that wonderful smile, staging just bulging with bikes and their shinny helmets..........
Along with these wonderful things comes the injuries of the day. I know that there were some, as we get more information on them we will update you. I believe that Brian Hoag received some during practice on his first race back this year... sorry to hear this Brian...
Great racing from these incrediable athletes. The day was visited with two exceptionable riders. Travis Pastrana graced us with his presence and his riding. Always with a smile and patience of signing autographs. Brings back memories of that long legged boy from Maryland that use to come and ride with Broc Hepler, Adam Musgrove that were in awe of this young rider. What a story this young man has since those days. The incredible young quad rider that I first met last year with his wonderful smile. He was watching every rider out on the track with those eyes saying I am going to do that. Young Dayton Webber did just that today, in Youth Quad he rode his bike around the up and down hills of High Point with grace and skill. Webber in his very young years loss his forarms and lower legs. This did not stop this young man in doing what he loves to do and he did it very well.
I'll have more pictures to add later today and I know that Kristin will be very busy getting her blog up. Have a great day.....

I have to at this point bring up one of my pet peeves, I guess. The total racers in that and the other A & B classes totaled around 50 + riders. WHY DO THEY DO THAT... 50 fast and experienced riders. The A class alone had 15 riders and it seems to me should have the track to themselves. As a spectator I think we get jipped in watching all of the good match ups between the riders... as a photographer I feel like a spinning pin-wheel by the end of the 5 laps. One misses some of the best racing around... It all gets jumbled up..... Okay thats my early season complaint..... again.... I know that the day can get long but having 50 plus riders on the track and then come around with a group of 6 or 7 (that take even longer to get their moto done)...... Just doesn't make sence. I remember back in the day we would maybe have 5 A riders... Okay I can see that but the A class has grown leaps and bounds with the best of the best racing. Lets give them the attention that they have earned over the years.... Give the A class their own moto when they have that many riders. As fast as they are they do not take up any where near the time that some classes take to finish.. So sweet it would be..... just the A class on the gate.......
It's Saturday and we have ran out of time for the other moto's. With PVR tomorrow we will try at a future time to get the others up... Thanks for your patience. With summer coming (and Kristin just got her own computer) I will have more time in the week to get them done before the next race. Kristin will have more time to get creative with your photo's...... Thank you all again for your outstanding riding abilities I love taking your pictures. Always Arlene
