~ RACING AT LORETTA LYNN'S MOTO 1 - 7:30 AM TUESDAY ~ Just wanted to let all of you who are checking in for LL news to please check the Facebook page that I have. I will try to keep up on this site as well but after 10 hours it is quicker to post on facebook than the time it takes to place pictures here on Aaron's site. I have to places on a photo site to get the links for here and it just takes more time. HOPE to do both but these are long days and I want to get as much as I can back home to all of you that are not here. My page on Facebook is - Lantzermx98.com....
~ SATURDAY AT LORETTA LYNN'S, SETTING UP PITS, PREPARING THE TRACK ~ It's only Saturday and the park seems packed. Families still rolling in looking for a pit area to be home for this up and coming week. Many have found their spots with others from home. Getting around by foot is crazy, so we took off in the car. It's not an easy place to drive around. It seems that all loose their memories on how to drive. Totally crazy! Anyway we did find a few of the home riders. Toth's, Arlet's & Crosby have a great pit area together. Just down the road a bit is the McConnell's & Schaffer's. The the Fratz-Orr's and the Weimers are just across a row or two. Got to see Nicks bike but didn't actually get to see Nick. He was off on a bicycle trip. Our friend Matt Burris and his very lovely wife Rebecca have come from Colorado with friends Ryan and Daniel. We haven't seen Matt in quite a few years. Was awesome visiting them in their pits this afternoon. Stopped by the dock and had a great visit with Pat Crowe. This is Pat's 35 year at Loretta's. That is incredible. She was sharing some great stories of the riders that have passed thru these many years. Think about it - all of those now professional racers! It is a fantastic list and she has seen them from the 50's right on thru the ranks. Pat needs to write a book. We shared a Red Velvet Funnell Cake with drizzle icing on it. We are so bad! Pat is the wonderful lady that hooks up every pit bike, golf carts and specialty wheels that need a permit. So she sees them all. Across from the dock is Cernics. Very busy place where Lori is very busy getting all of the products out to sell. With the help of Heather and Mimi they were very busy. The track is still getting many things done around it. Lots of white sand ready to mix in with the dirt. Ez-Ups going up all around, banners going up - it is a very busy time out on the track. Tomorrow is registration in the Arena and picking up the Loretta Lynn Bib. Great Day! I did get a few pcitures today and hope to get more tomorrow as our riders go thru the LONGGGGGG line. It was a beautiful day, low heat and humidity which is not normal down here but all is very excited about the up and coming week of lower temperatures. Stay tuned on here and my facebook page - Lantzermx98.com - Two more days before racing starts and then the atmosphere changes quite a bit.

My first thoughts are for ALL of the riders and their families for their great effort in participating at the LORETTA LYNN'S Regional at Budds Creek. The families and the riders have been busy over the past four months getting ready for this event. Congratulations to those that will be heading to Tennessee for "The Big Dance" and to those that may have fallen short in their quest don't get discouraged, next year may be your year. Our riders surely showed what a great talent we have here in our District.
What a great two days of racing. Not that each moto on any given Sunday is not great to watch for they are. But when you have the top riders from many area qualifiers racing for that special ticket to Loretta's each moto becomes one that you do not want to miss. I found myself needing to get back to the pits for some cool drinks. It would have felt so good to sit down for a while but just could not tear myself away from the racing. I have been to Budds Creek for Nationals but never to take pictures from down on the track. Budds track is very large and strung out with many hills to climb. With that said I got too as many places that I could shoot from. With the talent of our riders they look good everywhere!
I would like to thank Carrie Jo/Racer Productions/The Racing Paper for the opportunity to be able to be down on the track. Carrie Jo was very helpful with the wonderful Ladies at signups in getting me ready with the moto's and riders lists. Jerry and I would also like to thank the Liston's for allowing us to pit with them thru out the day. Lots of great food was offered but not enough time to watch racing and enjoy Jim's cooking. Also thank you to others as well that offered their home away from home. What a wonderful MX family we are a part of. Thank all of you!
Racing, riders and 3 moto's of each talented filled class, where does one start? I guess what comes up first in my thoughts. (that in itself is a little scary) I'm going to start with the 3rd moto of the +35. Jimmy Evans took the win over Scott Sheak and Keith Johnson right behind him. I will add here it was a great race. Jimmy and Scott were going at it side by side coming from the back section with Scott getting an edge on Jimmy. Keith Johnson came up and got around Jimmy but not for long. Jimmy was right back at both of them. First getting back in front of Keith and then set his sights on Scott. What a finish with Jimmy back around Scott and to the checkers.
Another moto that really stands out for me is the 250B 2nd moto with Jared Lesher. Jared coming around toward the back of the track hits the ruts in the right handed turn before the table top and goes down. Jared is down and 4 riders go on with Jared quickly getting back up and on his way. I stopped taking pictures and not quite sure how many did get around Jared. It was the first lap and the class was still pretty close together. It didn't matter to Jared he took out like a shot. He never looked back just set his bike on forward taking each rider one at a time. Actually he took 2-3 on a few of the turns. When he made it back to the position that I was at he still was on the gas. Got carried away on a tight turn front end up on the edge of the track getting a little squirrely keeping it together right back on the track and taking another few riders as he flew up the long hill. He was going strong never letting up and finished the moto in 9th. With the skills that Jared has he kept the bike up right in what a call controlled on the edge riding. I only wish I could have seen him on the other parts of the track, for what I saw around was AWESOME! Jared finished overall 6th place in the 250B. It was great watching you out there Jared, best of everything at Loretta's.
Budds Creek has long hills up and down; table tops here and there tunnel jumps and a few turns. On Sunday I ventured toward the back side of the track for some other views. I found a turn that was incredible. It is a left handed turn before a great table top. You come off a single that throws you into one or another small bowl ruts that sets you up for the table top. This table top one can see the riders clearing it at the other end of the track. I am at awe on how the riders enter the turn, if you take the outside the bike is off the ground and lands with a little kick but continues the speed. The end side seems a little tighter and one that seems to be a few fractions slower than the outside. (now keep in mind that I have NO IDEA how you guys do what you do - and this comment was observance only) anyway what a place to take pictures with all of the classes.
I'll be posting some pictures tomorrow on here. I do have some up on the pBase link below. Two days of such intense racing takes some time to get things up. Lots of great things for sure!
