~ 1ST RND FLY RACING PAMX PA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP ~

PLEASURE VALLEY RACEWAY - JULY 25, 2010

THE RUMBLE OF THUNDER THEN THE SHEETS OF RAIN CAME

What an exciting 1st State Championship event. The day started out with a good cloud cover. A much needed change from the heat and humidity of the past week. Moto's got off to a quick start with great match ups in the top 10 moto's. But along with those clouds came the darkness and the lightning and thunder. Rain, rain, sheets of rain came down with most of it headed for the track. EZ-Ups had difficulty in holding the rain off the occupants under them. I took shelter in sign ups waiting for it all to stop. Jeff took a look at the radar and we were right in the center of a very bright yellow and orange dot. Amazing amount of water all around. After evaluating the track and some dozer work a one moto format was put in place. The Vet A&B classes took the track as though nothing had changed.... but it had.
What a wonderful group of riders we have. They just went out and did what they always do. RIDE!
Picture taking became difficult and a zip-lock bag helped keep the camera dry. The darkness didn't help much either, but did come up with some pictures to view. I will start them out on the dry side of the day.

Picture taking was not at it's best on Sunday. Dark skies and of course moisture. I'm not very pleased with most of the pictures. BUT you will get a feel of the day and the great competition in the classes. Water, mud and more mud didn't keep the riders from doing their very best. So I apologize for the blurr and if I have someone named incorrectly, and you riders are awesome! I will be putting different classes together in galleries. Kristin and I will get up as much as we can... Should finish the classes. We are also working on the Loretta Lynn's group of riders, which from last count is around 30. Fantastic! Lots to do this week.

~ 2010 FLY RACING PAMX PA STATES CHAMPIONSHIPS ~

~ RND 1 - JULY 25 - PLEASURE VALLEY RACEWAY ~

~ SLIDE SHOWS OF STATES 2009 ~

~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOEY DENEEN - JULY 23 ~

(sorry Joey, Kristin is not here to do one of her special photo's,( a new one) so I will have to do... for now)

~ PAMX STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS, 1ST RND. @ PVR - JULY 25, 2010 ~
Yes it's just the last few weeks of July and here we are talking State Champions. So early, yes it is. Last year our first States race was the Sunday that fell right after a very long week at Loretta Lynn's. Many of the riders hurried back but it was a struggle for sure. So our first race will be one week before Loretta's this year. Helps with the rush to get home but scares me for the riders that are headed for their participation at Loretta's. From my last count of PAMX riders going to Loretta's there are over 30. WOW! Thats incredible. We have so many talented riders, from the 50's classes right thru our Vet Riders. Good Luck to all of them.
I put together a couple of slide shows of last years State races. High Point, Pleasure Valley, Maple Shade, R & D and Steel City. A very exciting series and I'm sure that this year will be no less.

Our first States Race is this coming weekend at PVR. Practice on Saturday and racing on Sunday. IF you haven't been at PVR lately it would be good to get there on Saturday and get acquainted again with the changes that Jeff and his crew have made to the track. Exciting, yes! As always we have the best of the best racing in the PAMX. Hope to see you there.

~ RAY NIEBEL'S MUD BABIES ~
Yes the Mud Babies are still hanging in there. They have been tru Holloween, rain and the major snow of last winter. So far this summer they have been baking in the sun and enjoying the front porch. Over a week ago a stray small black kitten came into our lives and has moved in on our front porch. He has taken to the Mud Babies.

~ MONDAY, JULY 12 ~
This is not something I like to post at anytime, a rider going down. Daniel Lippman at OIR yesterday received injuries. I haven't had any full reports from the family, but on facebook last night it was a very busy topic. The information there was Daniel received a broken leg and injured his shoulder. I can't even comprehend how that fantastic rider is feeling today. He is so dynamic in his style and his abilities. Loretta Lynn's right on his door step..... so many thoughts. Daniel, get well soon, I can't even express enough how much I am going to miss you.

~ UPDATE ON DANIEL - THURSDAY 15, PM ~

Arlene, Daniel's update is, they are doing surgery on Friday to repair the leg , a plate and 6 to 8 screws , couple days in hospital , 5 or 6 weeks in cast and 2 weeks physical therapy, does not look like any joint or ligament damage. The shoulder should be fine in 2 or 3 weeks , we appreciate every ones thoughts and concerns

Daniel.... may your surgery be all that is needed to get you back to a full recovery. Also I have seen that Kirk Hines will be having surgery on his elbow Friday as well. Best of things to you as well Kirk.

Want to send some get well greetings.... here's the address: Help cheer Daniel UP!

Daniel Lippman
1076 Soap Run Rd.
Fombell, Pa. 16123

~ UPDATE ON DANIEL - TUESDAY 13, PM ~
Arlene , this is Jeff , Daniels father, On Sunday Daniel unfortunately dislocated his left shoulder and broke his left tibula just below the knee , they set the shoulder back in on Sunday night at Akron childrens hospital and we are seeing an orthopedic doctor tomorrow morning for the leg , I'll keep you informed , thank you for your concern, daniel is feeling ok but very depressed.

GET WELL SOON DANIEL!

Fireworks, heat and humidity and great racing from our talented PAMX riders.
I know that many may be thinking that I have become a broken record. But again what awesome talented group of riders we have here in the PAMX. The racing was as intense as it has been all season long. Slusser, Lippman, Clites, Mauk, Michaels, Liston, Arlet, Levic, Deneen, Passieu, Hess, Newcome, BAchman, Andersons, Sauers and McCauley have been going at it since early spring. They are some of the top riders in their classes. They didn't slow down at all today. Lippman had his hands full with Clites in the 250B class and Mauk in the Open B Class. WOW what fantastic racing.
Here are just afew pictures of just Sunday's racing. Lots to work on this week, SUndays racing and Saturdays practice. Good stuff!

Full weekend at the Point. Oh how I love that place. We arrived around 6:30 Friday evening and again it was totally beautiful. The track had just been sculptured by the best track groomers around. It layed in perfect condition waiting for the bike and riders, silence, sweet smell of moist dirt...... so beautiful!

Time for sleep..... and rest this weary back!

LORETTA LYNN'S NORTHEAST YOUTH REGIONAL

PLEASURE VALLEY RACEWAY - JUNE 27, 2010

PAMX RIDERS TOTALLY ROCK!

While looking at the last misc pictures I found these from Saturdays National. Some good shots of our PAMX riders and of others. So thought I would make a slide show of them. Plus High Point is coming up again this weekend. YES!

After getting up the PVR Youth Regional I rememberd that I had a few more misc pictures of the High Point Pamx race after the national. SOoo, here they are.
~ MISC GALLERY HIGH POINT SUNDAY 13 ~
http://www.pbase.com/MXLens

Great weekend at PVR! - The place was packed with our best PAMX Youth Riders racing it out with many talented riders from all around. All classes had our PAMX riders right up front: Papi, Crosby, Shine, McKinney, Passieu, Luhovey, Legg, Peterman, Towers, Esper, Smallwood, Sauers, Stiers, Gretchen, Odell, Deneen, N. Fratz-Orr, Lippman, Kantner, Levic, Mantsch, Coombs and Weimer. What a talented group of riders. Many of these riders will be making their trip to the "Big Dance" at Loretta Lynn's the first week of August. Congrats to all of the youth that participated in this regional.
The pit areas where full all around the PVR track. Hats off to Jeff and his crew who kept things top notch. Lots of hard work was put into making this event a success.

~ ROCKSTAR ENERGY HIGH POINT NATIONAL/PAMX AMATEUR ~

~ BRIAN SHUCKHART 125 - AWESOME ~

~ HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL OF YOU HARD WORKING DADS. Down at the gate with their brooms, a dream that every Mother likes to see. Yes it can be done! Many of our Fathers are up in New York at the regionals, helping their son prepare for his best ride to get them to Loretta Lynns. THANK YOU DADS....... you to MOM'S....

Some of these pictures are from last year and beyond..... but Sons & Dads only get better with age. Have a great DAY!!!!!

Jerry and I took a trip to Morgantown and had to of course go by "The Point". On amateur race day last Sunday the crews were tackling the huge job of cleaning up all of the mess that the visitors left. (actually it hurts to see the lack of respect to our beautiful High Point from the visitors) Is it that hard to pick up your trash and throw it in a green can. Anyway it is back to its clean and beautiful self. Just wanted to let you all know. We are looking forward to the 4th of July PAMX race. Sounds like it could be interesting if they let you guys on the Pro Track... Have a great evening....

Watching you all ride from one weekend to the next and the abilities and dedication that you and your families have. Continue the good work..... Get use to very extreme heat conditions..... OH YEAH!

Just checking out the list of PAMX riders that we have at this regional and it is outstanding. WOW, I would have loved to have gone...... but just couldn't get there. It is a list of Who's Who from our PAMX Sunday races. The best of the best. A Classes right down to the +50 Classes. Best of everything for these riders: McGoff, S. Durham*, Newcome, Evans, Schmelyun, Spangler, Slusser, Himler, Fowler, Cunningham, Dellone, Streit, Mauk, Luft, Mcconnell, Bercosky, Deneen, Fisher, Lorson, Mills, Kibler, Mason, Branthoover, Ali, Sigmund, T. * I could not find Shane's name on the list but thought he was going...

PS.... WE ALSO HAVE SOME GREAT RIDERS DOWN AT BUDDS CREEK FOR THE NATIONAL. THE BEST FOR THEM AS WELL - WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND FOR OUR PAMX RIDERS!
* GO DOUBLE D *

*

What a day at "The Point". Awesome qualifing and the mains. Sun and rain was on tap for sure but then again that is High Point. If you come for anything else you would be disappointed. On the list of qualifiers I was able to catch a few shots. BRIAN SHUCKHART on a 125 YZ.... yes that is what I said. WOW! So sweet to hear that BRAPPPPP coming around. He is truly the KING on a 2-Stroke! (Aaron would have loved seeing him, actually I think that he was there anyway watching one of his favorite young riders) Brian got the draw to take the last lap of qualifiers ALL BY HIS-SELF. High Point graciously welcoming Brian! Again Brian we are so very PROUD of YOU!
It's not like my usual day at the point and I am so sorry that I was unbale to get all of our local riders trying to qualify. Dylan Slusser I am so sorry, I should have been looking for your style of riding instead of your number. I didn't know what number you were riding. I did however get a few shots of Darryn, Michael, Brian, Joey, Stevie and Chad. A couple others of riders that I just liked the picture. Most of these are from qualifing. I do have some of Darryn and Michael and Stevie from their mains. But just have to get some time to get them up. I'm still dealing with snow days at school. It's over Tuesday this week. YEAH! I also have my shots from Sundays Amateur race and you guys as always are right out in front. SO PROUD OF OUR PAMX RIDERS! Great match ups in the 250A/Pro & 450A/Pro moto's. Lots of great Misc shots of the weekend to get up. Again GREAT RACING and the BEST OF FRIENDS!

~ MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND - ROARING KNOB ~

~ PAMX THOR SPRING SERIES ~

~ YES IT'S COMING THIS WEEKEND - HIGH POINT NATIONAL 2010 ~ Here's a quick view of last years weekend at the "POINT", the closest thing to Heaven !

2009 HP National Slide Show

Lots of great racing and best of all GREAT FRIENDS! See you there!

THOR SPRING SERIES RND 7 - ROARING KNOB SUNDAY
Memorial Day weekend, and racing. Traveling up Old National Pike can take one way back to some of the first hearty souls that layed down their lives for the future of a young country. Yes the beauty of the spectacular golf course of Nemocolin is grand but I can imagine what Washington must have thought as he looked down into the vast valley toward Uniontown. He of course had other things like the British on his mind at Fort Necessity and the not so successful battle there. Every trip to The Knob I have to go thru this history trip. How it must have been. Present time comes back quickly as we pull into the pit areas and the sound of the bikes down on the track. The turn out looked light, Holiday weekends always take a toll on numbers. But talent was in every class and it was going to be an interesting day. Bikes were coming off the track with a good amount of mud on them. Thats a good sign at "The Knob". The way this track is layed out the surface can dry out extremely fast. That makes keeping it moist for the motos quite a challenge for the track crew.
The two day event turned into just the Sunday race for us. I was unable to get to far down on the track, not that good on the camera. So the bigger classes I had trouble getting shots of everyone. My camera was not very happy! BUT I still got alot to put up. Have a great week and stay safe while out practcing!

Feeling better today. Yesterday really took it out of me. BUT what a wonderful day to spend with such awesome friends. Kristin will be getting her blog updated soon. Hopefully I can get the Misc Galleries up today - Jerry is cooking a BIG chicken on the spit... And I'm off to see Mom. Have a SAFE day at "The Knob", all those who braved another day of heat and all others have a safe Memorial Day. PLEASE DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!

~ STEEL CITY, MAY 16, 2010 ~
Finally a day that wasn't cold, rainy, muddy and windy. It was awesome. The racing was even better. Pro Am brings out lots of fast and talented riders. The Open A Class had 37 riders and the 250 A had 32. Amazing racing.
I have lots on my mind to talk about and many pictures that tell the day. BUT, I am exhauxted and must get to bed. The day was very long and didn't get home till 10:00. So here are afew pictures that just touched the day and you the talented riders.

I'll be back at it in the morning before school.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Matt Toth. We haven't heard yet on how he is. Get well soon Matt.
